A practical multi-tool for everyone

The new Leatherman Wave takes the old Wave design to a new level. It is one of the best multi-tools money can buy. Leatherman is more practical and rugged than the fancy Swiss army knives. I have a Leatherman and a Swiss army knife and I've found myself using the Leatherman most of the times.

I just received my Leatherman New Wave. It's a high quality product. It's built very solid.

The only problem I have encountered is when trying to close it. Somehow, it doesn't just close in any manner I like (cannot close it fast). That is, in order to close it, I have to first make sure that the pliers are closed (tips touching) and then slide one side of the Leatherman first, and then the other side. Otherwise, the pliers get "stucked" inside one of the sides, as if it was forced to close.

Troy-Bilt Gas Trimmer 25CS

The trimmer is easy to start and manuver. However, it has some vibration which leaves your arms tired after use. The line is thick enough so that it does not wear out quickly. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.

OK trimmer but too heavy

I should have looked more carefully at the weight of this trimmer before I ordered it because it is very much heavier than my old one without having any more power. In fact I think it has a little less power because the motor strains and slows at cutting thin but moderately high grass, which my previous trimmer cut easily. This trimmer is heavy enough so that I had to rig a shoulder strap in order to use it. Also, it is a little too long for me, so that I cannot extend my arms when I use it, making it even more difficult to carry. I would not advise a short person to get this. It does start easily and everything works smoothly. For the money it is not bad but you should be fairly strong and tall or you will not be happy with this. (I am 5'4")
I also was told on my email purchase confirmation that it would not be delivered for 2 months. I emailed amazon, and within a day they replied that the email was wrong, and that the item would be delivered in 3 weeks(it was), and they gave me free 2 day shipping for my trouble. I have always found them to be terrific about taking care of any problem.

Item great - amazon dropped the ball

Troy Bilt is known for quality products and it should go without saying that this trimmer is a great item. I especially like the quick connect system that allows for removing of the trimmer and addition of other tools.

When I ordered this product Amazon said it wouldn't ship until late August. I emailed them and said I didn't want to wait 2 months. Somehow, magically, they pulled one off the moon and shipped it. When the delivery company called to arrange a time to drop it off, I said I already told Amazon that I would refuse delivery so send it back. Then I emailed Amazon AGAIN and told them it was coming back and that I wanted a refund on my credit card yesterday or sooner. Overall, it was just a hassle but Amazon did the right thing, in the end.

Yard-Man

Very easy to start. I like the fact that I don't have to mix the oil and the gas. A little hard to push once the bag starts getting heavy, but I love the easy mulch without all the raking! Height adjustments are a nice step up from all the cheapy mowers I've had over the years. I love this mower!!!!

Great all-around mower

Consumer reports was right! This is a very good mower for the money. I have never ordered something so large through the mail, but with minimal assembly it was ready to go. The engine is very easy to start (usually only 2 pulls when cold, one when the engine is warm) Mulching & side discharge both work well. I have not tried bagging. It is definately easy to handle & move around all the obstacles in my yard, including a steep bank, trees, stairs, etc. As the household Yard-Woman, I love the Yard-Man mower despite the name!

One of Amazon's Best Values

One Monday evening I decided that my Craftsman just wasn't cutting it anymore, as it seemed to drink all of the oil I kept putting into it. I came inside and without hesitation ordered this mower - and it was delivered fairly promptly (free shipping I might add). The FedEx delivered it right to my garage.

I was familiar with the name b/c I saw a Yard Man Tractor at Costco, so I figured I'd go with a smaller mower for the lawn I have.

For less than $200 this mower is awesome and a steal. Don't spend extra money on a self propelled mower, as this mower is VERY light-weight (probably 40 pounds or so) and is easy to push - and cuts the grass into tiny shreds - making for less bag emptying.

You don't even need to push the "cold start" button - it fires up right away - If you are looking for a great mower at a great value, BUY THIS ONE!

If you are looking to show up your neighbors with a nicer mower than theirs, either buy a more expensive one with functions you will never use or buy this one and replace the plastic wheels with Shiny-Steel rims.

Easiest trimmer there is!

I have owned several trimmers, those with long heavy cords to drag along, others with gas/oil mixtures that never worked quite right. Then came the Black and Decker auto feed system. I think it is fabulous! You just plug it on a charger and it is always ready for use, the spools could not be simpler to pop in. I highly recommend this product. Thank you Black and Decker!

Don't waste your money

What the other reviewers fail to mention, maybe because they failed to try, is that the AFS on the trimmer continues to work flawlessly with hand wound string, and at less than 1/4 the cost it's seems like a huge waste to buy the pre-wound spools. It only takes 2 minutes to rewind a spool, so even when I do run out in the middle of a job, I just look at it as a 2-minute break from yard work. Of course, if your one and only concern is convenience, you may be looking at the right product. Be aware, if you've had trouble with rewinding trimmers in the past, it may be because you're using old line, which tends to get brittle over time. Buy some new line and try again. If you buy the three-pack of spools three times, you just paid for your trimmer again.

Don't find yourself strung out.

So what did you want to know? I started my trimming carrier with the Black & Decker Automatic Feed Spool (AFS). It is just plug and go. I prefer my trimmer string to come from Black & Decker. This way I will not come unraveled trying to use some cheap substitute. The spools last longer than expected. But all good things come to an end and you don't want to be half way through the yard when you find your self strung out.
